Columbia, S. C. – The University of South Carolina women’s cross country team heads to Auburn, Ala. for the 2001 Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championships on Monday, Oct. 29. The 6,000-meter race will begin at 11:00 a.m. (EST) at the Indian Pines Golf Course.

So far this season, USC has won two meets, while finishing in the top third in the other three meets. With the success the Gamecocks are having this season, USC looks to improve on its ninth place finish from last season. The Lady Razorbacks will be gunning for their fourth straight SEC title and eighth title overall.

Leading the way for the Gamecocks is freshman Jenny Lake. Lake has been the top finisher for South Carolina in all five of the meets this season and should finish in the top 20 at the SEC Championships.

Along with Lake, Nicole Berhns, Nikki Campbell, Criston Dailey, Kiney Eschenburg, Rachel Smith, Abby Sox and Mary Wright will represent the Gamecocks in Auburn, Ala.
