Athens, GA – The South Carolina Track and Field program made yet another impressive performance this season, this time in Athens, Georgia, as they brought home three titles in the meet. Three South Carolina athletes qualified for the NCAA Championships provisionally.

Tacita Bass had another impressive performance as she won the 400-meter hurdles competition with a time of 58.89. That mark was a NCAA Championship provisional qualifying time.

Lisa Barber placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.67. Meanwhile Sheneka Griffin placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.30.

In the high jump, Chelsea Hammond finished third with a mark of 5′ 6.5″. Antoinette Wilks finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.65.

On the men’s side, Chris Steddum won the pole vault competition and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with a mark of 17′ 07.75″.

Jonathan Fortenberry provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships as he finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 46.22. Teammate Otis Harris finished third with a time of 46.60.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Corey Taylor came home with first place as he ran a 14.16 with teammate Fred Townsend finished second with a time of 14.33.

The Gamecocks next compete at the Penn Relays on Tuesday, April 23rd in Philadelphia, PA.
