Former South Carolina All-American Wade King (1986-89) set a new American record this past weekend in the 50 butterfly in the 35-39 age group. Competing at the YMCA Masters Nationals at the International Sports Hall of Fame in Ft. Lauderdale, King finished the 50 butterfly at 22.30.

King earned All-American honors all four years he competed at Carolina (1986-89). King’s All-American honors include: 100 butterfly, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay.
