GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The USC Equestrian Team placed tenth in the first Varsity Equestrian Championships in Gainesville, Florida this past weekend. The Hunt Seat Team placed eighth with a fourth place finish by Junior Lisa Wilson in level three Flat, a fifth place finish by junior Brooke Spitzer in Level two flat, and sixth place finishes by junior Sarah Tomasi in Level 1 Fences and sophomore Lindsey Wilson in Level 3 Fences. The Western Team placed seventh with a fourth place finish by freshman Kerrie Reeves in Level 2 Horsemanship.

“It was a frustrating day for us” said junior Jessica Keels. “As a whole we felt we performed well, but small mistakes kept us from placing higher.”

The overall winner for the Varsity Equestrian Championships was Texas A&M and Reserve Champion was the University of Georgia.
