Catch up with senior Berna Dwyer, a middle blocker for the Carolina volleyball team. What are you doing with your time off this summer?

BD: I don’t really have time off this summer. I have been working at Kelly’s Deli for my practicum and I have been going to summer school. The one week I do have off, I will be going home to see my parents and flying to San Diego California to see my sisters. Have you been active in any community service projects? If so, what have you been doing?

BD: I wish I have, but my schedule has been to busy with work and school. What do you think is the best thing that you get out of doing community service projects?

BD: Helping people. Why did you choose to come to South Carolina?

BD: The people were great and knowing Crystal Moore and Coach Trina Smith really helped influence me. What is the biggest difference between Arizona and South Carolina?

BD: The weather, the people, and the food. Basically everything. Making the transition from high school to college and moving across the country, what was the biggest adjustment you had to make? Was the transition hard?

BD: The biggest transition was being so far away from my family. For the first time, I was by myself. The transition was pretty hard because I did get homesick, but after a while, you get so busy you don’t have time to be homesick. What are you plans after college?

BD: Right now I don’t have anything specific planned right now, I am trying to keep my options open. What would be your dream job?

BD: No job! You are one of six seniors on this year’s volleyball team. What are your expectations for such an experienced group?

BD: My expectations are the same as they’ve always been: winning! What advice would you give to a future collegiate volleyball player?

BD: Stay in shape. What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

BD: I see myself being very successful at my career and traveling the world. What is your favorite Girl Scout Cookie?
