Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s soccer program ranked 10th in the 2002 College Soccer News recruiting class poll. Head Coach Mark Berson added 11 members to the USC squad, including three transfer students.

Adding depth to the forward position, the Gamecocks signed freshmen Ben Link and Ryan Deter. Geoffrey Anatole added depth in goal, while Eric Szezycki, Josh Alcala and Greg Reece add strength to the defense. Freshmen Lawson Vaughn and Willis Forko will help out in the midfield.

Transfers sophomore J.C. Desriac and junior Ricky Quest, 2001 Junior College National Player of the Year, will compete at the forward position while, junior transfer Dane Johnson will play in the midfield position. Quest and Johnson both come from Herkimer Community College.
