Columbia, S.C. – Carolina volleyball wrapped up their two-a-days schedule with an intrasquad scrimmage on Wednesday evening. The Gamecocks played two 30-point games and one 15-point game, all rally-point style. Team White defeated Team Black 2-1 with scores of 30-23, 17-30 and 15-11. Head coach Kim Christopher was pleased with the efforts she saw in the scrimmage.

“I saw good play from the underclassmen. Lynae Vanden Hull looked very good on the outside, while Sarah Morgan showed nice things defensively,” said Christopher. “I am very happy with the depth we will have this season.”

The Gamecocks will take a day off from practice on Thursday and attend their first day of classes. Practice will resume on Friday morning at the Volleyball Competition Facility. USC will begin preparing for their upcoming non-conference schedule.

The Garnet and Black open the season Aug. 30-31 at the Michigan State Tournament in Lansing, Mich. USC will play Oakland University at 5 p.m. On Aug. 31, USC will play Georgetown at 8 a.m. and No. 15 Michigan State at 8 p.m.
