Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s cross country team will open the 2002 campaign on Friday, Aug. 30th. at 6:00 p.m. at the Charleston Southern. Invitational.

Second year coach Stan Rosenthal will be leading a young Gamecock team composing of one senior, one junior, two sophomores, and four freshmen. The top returning runners are co-captions Kinsey Eschenburg and Jenny Lake. Lake led the Gamecocks in every race last season..

Also competing in Friday’s 5,000-meter race is Charleston Southern, The Citadel, College of Charleston, Coastal Carolina and Savannah State.
