Columbia, S.C. – In the Gamecocks’ first match of the Pro-rehab-Aces tournament, the third-ranked men’s soccer team battled the Louisville Cardinals to a scoreless tie, extending its unbeated streak to seven. South Carolina, playing in its first overtime match of the season, improves to 6-0-1.

In the 73rd minute of regulation Cardinal Fernando Polomelli was ejected from the match after receiving his second yellow card of the day, giving South Carolina a one-man advantage for the remainder of the match. South Carolina was unable to capitalize on the advantage but did dominate on offense, outshooting Louisville 21-11.

Gamecock goalkeeper Michel Bachmeyer posted five saves en route to recording his third shutout of the season.

USC plays its second match of the Pro-rehab-Aces Classic on Sunday, Sept. 22 when they face host Evansville at 1:00 p.m.
