Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina fell to the College of Charleston Cougars, 1-0, tonight at Patriot’s Point in Charleston, S.C. South Carolina drops to 9-4-1, while Charleston improves to 7-5-1.
Charleston’s Troy Lesesne connected with Ricardo Granados to score the only goal of the match in the 59th minute. Lesesne netted the lone goal from eight yards out.
South Carolina outshot the College of Charleston 12-7. Gamecock goalkeeper Michael Bachmeyer recorded three saves.
The Gamecocks return home to host No. 14 Furman on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2:00 p.m. The first 300 fans will receive a free Gamecock adidas scarf. The meeting between the Gamecocks and Paladins will be broadcasted live on the internet at www.uscsports.com. Sunday’s matchup is also father/son and youth league day. Any father/son tandem or child wearing a youth league shirt will receive admission for $1.
