Columbia, S.C. –
The South Carolina Gamecock softball team jumped into the top 15 for the first time this season as the latest ESPN.com./USA Softball Top 25 poll list Carolina at No. 13. The Gamecocks moved up three places from their last ranking at No. 16 in the debut poll last week.

USC is 12-5 and is 3-4 against ranked teams so far this season. South Carolina hosts Virginia on Wednesday and opens SEC play on Saturday when Mississippi State comes to town. The Bulldogs are not ranked but are receiving votes in the ESPN.com poll. USC is still ranked No. 16 in last week’s USA Today/NFCA Coaches poll. The new poll will be released Wednesday.
