Fayetteville, Ark. – The 24th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks cruised to a 6-1 victory over Arkansas on Sunday afternoon in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The victory improved the Gamecocks to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in the SEC while the Razorbacks dropped to 7-5 overall and 0-4 in the SEC. The win was also South Carolina’s sixth in the row since their 6-1 loss on February 15th.

In doubles, Carolina took the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles match-ups. Magda Wojdylo and Kathy Boyanovich defeated Simona Arghire and Melissa Cornett 8-1 in the number one doubles while Jodi Kenoyer and Danielle Wiggins defeated Anna Dybicz and Iliana Pacheco 8-4 in flight two. Catherine Brown and Justine Walsh were defeated 8-5 at the number three doubles.

The Gamecocks took five of six single match-ups. Boyanovich took number one singles 6-2, 6-3 over Dybicz while Wiggins defeated Ferreira 6-1,6-0. Wojdylo lost the first set to Pacheco 6-3 but won the second set 6-2 and then took the match in a third set tiebreaker 10-3. Brown defeated Cornett in straight sets 6-3,6-3 while Walsh also won in straight sets against Monica Dybicz 6-4,6-1. Simona Arghire won the only singles match on the afternoon for Arkansas against USC’s Jodi Kenoyer 2-6,6-4,6-3.

South Carolina will next be in action on Wednesday when they travel to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech. The Gamecocks then head to Nashville to play Vanderbilt on Friday and they will return home on Sunday to face the Wildcats of Kentucky.
