COLUMBIA, S.C –
Despite a two and a half hour rain delay the top-seeds in all of the boys’ tournaments advanced to the next rounds. Play was delayed early in the afternoon as rains entered the Columbia area. In the Boys’ 18s, top-seeded Wyatt Boylston, of Lexington, advanced with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Matthew Jacobs. Boylston will face William Thompson, of Columbia, on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Columbia Tennis Center.

In Boys’ 18 doubles action the top-seeded team of Jeff Muthig and Hunter Strasburger moved on to the finals after defeating Sean Tran and Ben McFarland 8-0. Muthig and Strasburger will face the winner of tomorrow’s match between Matthew Jacobs/Alex Prostko and Michael Barber/David Reynolds.

In the Girls’ 18 singles, top-seeded Lauren Brown, of Gaffney, advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Ursula Ramsey 6-1, 6-1. Brown will face Lisa Marie Moyer Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Sam Daniel Tennis Courts on the University of South Carolina campus.

Sunday’s play will begin at 8 a.m. at the Columbia Tennis Center, Maxcy Gregg Tennis Courts, Sam Daniel Tennis Courts, and the USC Indoor Tennis Courts.
