Columbia, S.C. – After jumping out of the starting blocks with a four-match win streak, the University of South Carolina men’s soccer team is ranked eighth in the Soccer Times Top 25 poll released today. This is a 15 spot jumps for the Gamecocks, who were ranked 23rd last week. USC is also ranked 16th in the NSCAA/adidas poll.

In the Gamecocks past four matches, they have outscored their opponents 12-2, including two shutouts against Stetson (2-0) and Richmond (3-0). Over the weekend USC defeated Richmond and Northwestern at the Aaron Olintsky Memorial Classic in Charleston, S.C.

The Gamecocks return home next weekend to host the Gamecock Soccer Classic on Friday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 14. South Carolina will face Jacksonville Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Alabama A&M on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
