The University of South Carolina women’s golf team finished in third place at the 2003 TOPY Cup in Tanagura, Japan, with a three-day total of 925 (+61). California-Berkeley was named the overall winner as the Bears shot a 30-over par 894 through three rounds. Tohoku Fukushi climbed into second place ahead of the Gamecocks with a 914 (+50) team score. The individual medalist was C. Tsunekawa of Doshisha who shot a two-over par 218 during the tournament.

Senior Marci Robinson finished in seventh place with a 227 (+11) while fellow senior Adrienne Gautreaux tied for eighth place just one stroke behind at 228 (12-over par). Two Gamecock golfers tied for 17th place as Laura McCaslin and Tiffany Catafygiotu each posted a 19-over-par 235. Kory Thompson carded a 247 (+31) to finish in 27th place.

The South Carolina team returns to the country on Sunday, September 14th and will return to competition next weekend at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Nashville, Tennessee, September 26 through September 28th.
