ATHENS, Ga. – The doubles team of Geraldo Knorr/Rob Cassidy and Carl Wermee/Ben Atkinson both notched two victories Saturday at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships at the University of Georgia to advance to the round of eight.

Knorr and Cassidy paired up to topple Cayo and Moe of Stetson 8-5 in the opening round of the doubles competition. Knorr and Cassidy teamed up to defeat Hecht and Aguerrevere (Tenn. Tech) 8-6 to advance to Sunday’s round of eight. Knorr and Cassidy will team up Sunday to take on Fomine and Armstrong of Mississippi State.

Wermee and Atkinson defeated Secker and Thiele of Armstrong Atlantic 8-5 on Saturday morning to advance to the second round. Saturday afternoon, Wermee and Atkinson beat Stubbs and Adrian of Stetson in an 8-1 rout to advance on.
