Columbia, S.C. – After one round of action at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Nashville, Tenn., the University of South Carolina men’s golf team stands in third place after firing 290. Due to heavy rain, only one round of the tournament was completed today. The remaining 36 holes will be played on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

Leading the 18-team field is UAB with a first-day total of 273. USC-Aiken (288) stands in second while South Caorlina and Mississippi are tied for third.

Eirik Johansen led the five-man squad with an even-par score of 71. One stroke behind Johansen, who is currently in 15th place, is teammate Martin Rominger with 72. Rominger is tied for 21st. Nash Elliott carded 73, followed by Matt Robinson who recorded 74. After posting 75 in the first day of competition, West Streib stands in 51st place.

The final two rounds of the Mason Rudolph Championship will be played on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
