South Carolina women’s golf team jumps back into action Friday, September 26th as the team tees off in the first round of the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tennessee. Hosted by Vanderbilt University, the Mason Rudolph Championship is a 54-hole tournament held at the Vanderbilt Legends Country Club (Par 72, 6276), just 17 miles south of downtown Nashville.

Sixteen outstanding teams will tee it up Friday morning for the three-day event, culminating with Sunday’s final round.Southern Cal, golfstat.com’s No. 1 rated team, is in the field, as is Auburn, which tied for the championship two weeks ago at the NCAA Preview.This is South Carolina’s first entry into the Mason Rudolph Championship.

The Rudolph team title was captured by Vanderbilt last year. Vanderbilt’s Courtney Woods took the individual title and is back to defend her crown this year.

This will be the second tournament of the young fall season for the Gamecocks after finishing third in the TOPY Cup in Tanagura, Japan two weeks ago.

South Carolina is led by senior Marci Robinson who has a 75.67 stroke average after the first tournament of the season. Team captain Adrienne Gauutreaux is second at 76.00.
