Franklin, Tennessee – The University of South Carolina women’s golf team opened the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tennessee Friday with a 17-over-par 305 and is in 13th place after the first 18 holes. UCLA leads the 17-team field after the first day with a seven-under-par 281. UCLA’s Hannah Jun posted a five-under par 67 to pace the field

Team captain Adrienne Gautreaux had the honors on the day for South Carolina as the senior fired a 73 to tie for 25th place. Sophomore Laura McCaslin is tied for 34th after shooting an opening day 75 Friday. Senior Marci Robinson is tied for 49th after a 77 to open. Sophomore Erica Battle fired an 80 Friday to finish in a tie with teammate Tiffany Catafygitou for 71st place.

Entered in the championship as an individual, senior Kory Thompson shot a 78 Friday for a share of 64th place.

The Gamecocks start round two on Saturday with the first tee time of 8:40 a.m.
