Interviewed By Drew Greiner, USC Sports Information
What is it like being a student-athlete?
It can be very stressful because you have to balance school and you must have some down time. There are a lot of academic requirements that go along with being a student-athlete.
What is your favorite thing about USC?
Getting to know all the people I have gotten close to. The girls on the team along with my friends who are not athletes. It has been a culture shock to me because it is very different from New York.
What other sports do you like to watch ?
I love baseball . I am a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and have watched them since they were the Milwaukee Braves. I have respect for the NY Yankees except for when they play the Braves. I’m starting to get into college football.
What place would you most like to visit?
If we could hang out with the Auburn team that would be fun. I would also like to see Savannah, Georgia
What is your most memorable moment as a rider?
When I got reserve champion at the Hampton’s Classic (in Long Island, NY). I got First Place in a jumping class of one hundred riders.
What is your favorite part of equestrian?
The horses. The way they overcome challenges. When I was here my freshman year I didn’t ride at all and I couldn’t stand it. I need to be around the horses.
What do you hope to do after you graduate?
Either go to Australia on an internship if I get the chance or go back to Florida and live with my mother and sister. I would like to get an entry level aquarium job as a trainer and maybe work my way up to be a shark intelligence researcher.
What is your favorite TV show?
I don’t get a chance to watch TV a lot, but when I do it is either Buffy or Niptuck.
What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?
I picture myself with a house of my own with stairs in Florida with a training job and an animal to take care of as well as a minor research project.
What competition are you most looking forward to?
Auburn. I love going to Auburn
What is it like competing for Coach Duncan?
She has always given me a chance and has helped me excel in gaining confidence. I may not be that much different of a rider but I can ride a lot harder horse now as a result of Coach Duncan.
