COLUMBIA, S.C. –
Hoping to stop a five match losing streak this weekend, the Gamecock volleyball team is heading to Auburn and Tuscaloosa this weekend, taking on the Auburn Tigers Friday at 8 p.m. ET. The Gamecocks then head to Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Sunday to face the Alabama Crimson Tide at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Gamecocks are currently 10-12, 4-6 in the SEC.

Taking on the Tigers first, Carolina hasn’t dropped a match to Auburn since 1995 and currently leads the all-time series 9-6. USC won both matches last year 3-0. The Tigers, 10-12, 1-9 in the SEC, topped Mississippi State last weekend 3-2 for their first conference win since 2000.

On Sunday, Carolina takes on the team that knocked them out of last year’s SEC Tournament in the first round – the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Crimson Tide (11-11, 5-5 in the SEC) dropped the 2002 series 2-1 with each match only lasting three games, but the all-time series is tied 11-11.

Live stats for the Alabama match can be found at the official website of the Gamecocks, www.uscsports.com.
