Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina will entertain the eighth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels in the regular season home finale Saturday, Nov. 8th at Euguene Stone III Stadium. South Carolina enters the match with a record of 8-6-2 and are coming off a 2-2 tie with College of Charleston.

In the College of Charleston match Makan Haslop and Lawson Vaughn netted their first goals of the season for the Gamecocks. Leading the squad in points this season is freshman Ayo Akinsete who has seven goals and two assists. Sophomore forward Ryan Deter has netted five goals on the year. Freshman Brad Guzan has been between the posts for every minute of every match this season. Guzan has tallied seven shutouts and has a 1.06 GAA.

UNC enters the match with a record of 11-3-3 and are led in scoring by junior Marcus Storey and freshman Jamie Watson. Both Storey and Watson have accumulated 15 points on the season. South Carolina is 8-5-0 all-time against the Tar Heels at home.

Saturday night will be “Recreation Night.” All kids who wear their youth soccer jersey to the match will be admitted free of charge.
