Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina’s Eirik Johansen played well in earning top-ten finishes in the Titleist Long Drive and the Ping Putting Contests at the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas. Johansen tied for second place in the putting contest with a score of 23 in the nine-hole event. Arizona’s Chris Nallen took first place with a score of 22.

In the long drive contest, Johansen tied for fifth with a drive of 330 yards. Nallen, who was the putting champion, had a drive of 346 to claim first place honors.

The 29th Annual Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic begins Monday with 36 holes. The tournament, which is being played at the Par-71, 6,781-yard El Paso Country Club, will conclude on Tuesday with 18 holes.
