Columbia, S.C. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America released the All-South region team with a pair of Gamecocks honored. Senior midfielder Jack Cummings and freshman goalkeeper Brad Guzan each were named to the All-South region team.

Guzan, who finished the year with a 0.96 goals against average, started all 18 matches in goal for South Carolina this season. Guzan is one of only two freshmen to be named to the All-South Team. Guzan finished the year with eight shutouts and 69 saves between the posts.

Captain and the lone senior on the 2003 South Carolina squad, Jack Cummings started and played in 16 matches scoring four goals and tallying one assist. Two of Cummings’ four goals were game-winners, both coming in 1-0 victories vs. Charlotte and Appalachian State. Cummings was also named to the Gamecock Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team. In his four-year span at South Carolina, Cummings scored nine goals and tallied eight assists for 26 points as a member of the South Carolina men’s soccer progam.
