Jan. 6, 2004

Columbia, S.C. –
Applications for 2004 South Carolina baseball season tickets will be mailed this week to Gamecock Club members and season ticket holders, as the start of another Carolina baseball season is less than six weeks away.

South Carolina, ranked as high as seventh in preseason polls, has made
back-to-back trips to the NCAA College World Series and has appeared in four
consecutive NCAA Super Regionals. The Gamecocks are the second winningest
program in the country over the past four seasons and have claimed four out
of the last five Southeastern Conference Eastern Division titles.

In 2004, Gamecocks will play a 37-game home schedule at Sarge Frye
Field, three more home games than a year ago. Season ticket prices for the
2004 season are as follows:

Boosters: $140
Seniors: $85
Faculty/Staff: $95 (faculty/staff are admitted free of charge, however,
they may purchase reserved seats at this price)

Carolina opens its 2004 home season Feb. 13 against Charleston Southern
(3 p.m.).

Even with its recent success on the diamond, Carolina baseball still
remains one of the best bargains in the SEC. LSU ($300/$200), Ole Miss
($175) and Auburn ($170) all have higher priced tickets than South Carolina.

The deadline for returning applications to the ticket office is Jan. 19.
