The University of South Carolina will host the First Annual Baseball Bash on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Sarge Frye Field and the USC Indoor Competition Facility. Admission is free and will feature both the South Carolina baseball team and women’s softball team.

The schedule for the Baseball Bash includes scrimmage, bulls-eye competition, celebrity softball hitting contest, a home run derby and an autograph session and video presentation. South Carolina’s baseball team will scrimmage beginning at 1:15 p.m. with contests scheduled to take place at the conclusion of the scrimmage.

Ranked as high as seventh in preseason polls, the South Carolina baseball team opens the 2004 season on Friday, Feb. 13 against Charleston Southern at Sarge Frye Field with first pitch set for 3 p.m. The Gamecocks have made two consecutive appearances in the College World Series and have won four of the last five SEC Eastern Division titles.
