The University of South Carolina women’s golf team struggled in day two of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Tuesday and fell to 15th place overall. The Gamecocks start the third round of the par 71-5912 yard tournament Wednesday. The 54-hold tournament is being held at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Los Angeles, California.

On Tuesday, USC shot a 333 for a total score of 635 (+49) in the first two rounds of the three-day event. UCLA remains at the top with a two-day total 579. The Bruins’ All-American Charlotte Mayorkas remained as the top individual golfer after two days of shooting below-par golf(-2, 135).

South Carolina Senior Adrienne Gautreaux is tied for 22nd place after the first two rounds with a 152. Gautreaux shot a 78 Tuesday after opening the Tournament Monday with a 74. Junior Tiffany Catafygiotu is tied for 51st place with a 160, after shooting an 85 on day two. Senior Kory Thompson posted an 83 on day two and sits in a tie for 51st place, along with Catafygiotu. Playing in her first event of the season, sophomore Erica Battle turned in a 90 Tuesday to tie for 71st place. Freshman Jenna Pearson shot an 87 Tuesday and is tied for 76th place.
