Baton Rouge, LA – The University of South Carolina women’s golf team shot a 33-over-par 321 Saturday in the second round of the 23rd LSU/Cleveland Classic to move into eighth place of the 54-hole event held at the University Club in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Gamecocks are 22 strokes off the leader, Tulane, with Sunday’s final round still to be played at the 6,200 yard, par 72 tournament. North Carolina’s Ashley Prange leads the field at even par after firing a one-under par 71 in the second round.
USC senior Adrienne Gautreaux remains in a tie for second place with a two-over-par 146. Competing as an individual, Laura McCaslin is 16th after two rounds with a two-day total of 154 (+10). Gamecock teammates Tiffany Catafygiotu and Erica Battle are knotted in 43rd place with a 16-over-par 160 while senior Marci Robinson is tied for 56th place (163, +19). Senior Kory Thompson is tied for 67th with a 166 (+22)
South Carolina begins the final round of competition Sunday with a 9:30 a.m. EDT shotgun start.
