The South Carolina (23-10) men’s basketball team earned its first NCAA Tournament berth in six years on Sunday, claiming the 10th seed in the Kansas City, Mo., subregional and will face the seventh-seeded Memphis Tigers (21-7) on Friday in the first round.
Joining the Gamecocks and Tigers in Kansas City will be second-seeded Oklahoma State and 15th-seed Eastern Washington. The winners of the two first round games will meet on Sunday for the right to advance to the East Rutherford, N.J., regional.
