Columbia, S.C. – SEC-TV, Fox Sports Net’s live, weekly Southeastern Conference studio program hosted by Dave Neal and joined by reporter Jenn Hildreth, will feature USC senior catcher Landon Powell this week. The show is scheduled for Thursday, April 1 at 6:30 ET. Thursday’s show will also include a look at South Carolina’s Sarge Frye Field in the week’s feature “Home Field Presented by BC Powder.”
Co-captain and a preseason All-American candidate, Powell is batting .402 on the year and has started all 25 games this season for the Gamecocks. Powell owns a 1.000 fielding percentage behind the plate and has six HR and 32 RBI on the year as well as 10 doubles. For the third consecutive year Powell was also named to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List. Powell is one of 18 players in South Carolina history to collect at least 200 career hits. Powell currently is 11th on the USC All-Time Hits list with 219 and is second on the USC All-Time Doubles List with 54 career two base hits.
South Carolina will also be on SEC-TV and Fox Sports Net this weekend as Saturday’s game with Vanderbilt will be televised live at 3 p.m. ET in the first SEC Baseball Game of the Week. Dave Neal and Larry Conley will call the action for Saturday’s game.
