Columbia, S.C. – Sophomore Danielle Wiggins was selected on Thursday evening to compete in the 2004 NCAA Singles Championships in Athens, Ga. From May 24-29. Wiggins, a native of Jacksonville currently ranks 35th in the country and has posted a 15-6 record during the spring and a 21-10 mark overall on the season. She played all 21 matches in the spring at the number one singles position and recorded seven wins over nationally ranked opponents with two of the victories against players ranked in the top 15. Against SEC opponents, Wiggins went 9-2 at the number one singles spot. Wiggins is the first USC player to be selected to the singles championships since Markovski was selected in 2002 and is one of 14 SEC players selected to participate in the tournament in singles action.
