Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina (34-13, 13-11 SEC) returns to the baseball diamond on Tuesday night as the Gamecocks meet North Carolina (34-12, 13-8 ACC) in the rescheduled Battle of the Border at Knights Stadium in Ft. Mill, S.C. First pitch for Tuesday is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday night’s game was orginially scheduled on Wednesday, March 31 but was postponed due to rain.

The Gamecocks will be the visiting team and occupy the first base dugout. South Carolina will start freshman RHP Harris Honeycutt (0-0, 2.89 ERA) with North Carolina freshman RHP Robert Woodard (5-1, 3.90 ERA) on the mound for the Tar Heels.

This is the first regular season meeting between the two schools since the 1988 season. The Gamecocks and Tar Heels have met the last two seasons in the postseason with USC ousting North Carolina in the 2002 NCAA Regional and the 2003 NCAA Super Regional. South Carolina & North Carolina also tied for first in the 2003 Collegiate Baseball Recruiting Class Rankings.

South Carolina is ranked No. 7 in Baseball America and No. 21 in Collegiate Baseball this week with the Tar Heels heading into Tuesday’s contest with a No. 15 ranking from Collegiate Baseball.
