Sept. 8, 2004

COLUMBIA, S.C. – With home games on both CBS and ESPN nationally, USC released its men’s basketball television schedule today. USC basketball will be shown on live television at least 12 times this year with additional games expected to be added to the schedule prior to the season. In addition, USC released its times for each game today.

Highlighting the schedule, USC will host an ESPN contest with Kentucky on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 9 pm (EST) and then a Sunday, Feb. 27 2 pm game with Florida on CBS. Both games will be televised nationally.

“First, it’s important for the state that the Carolina-Clemson game continue to be shown statewide on live television,” said USC Head Coach Dave Odom. “It’s exciting for the Colonial Center to welcome ESPN for the first time and CBS for the second time in three years. Last year the students and fans embraced this team and made it their own, making The Colonial Center a very difficult place for an opponent. We hope the Colonial Center will continue to become one of the premier basketball venues in the country and showcasing the facility in this type of atmosphere will add to its luster as a big-time basketball facility.”

USC will appear on Fox Sports South four times, Jefferson-Pilot four times, and Jayhawk TV, CSS, CBS and ESPN each once. USC is also working to televise the Kansas game as it will be shown on Jayhawk TV. CSS is expected to also select additional games.

USC played 11 regular-season television games last season and then four post-season game televised for a total of 15 on live television.
