September 25, 2004 – Rock Hill, S.C. — The USC Gamecocks (95 pts) put three runners in the top 15 overall and came away from the Asics/Winthrop Invitational with a third-place finish on Satuday. Charlotte (52 pts) finshed first, just edging Applachian State (57 pts).

Senior captain Jenny Lake (17:56)* came away with a second-place finish overall, her third top-two finish of the year. Freshmen Amy Wike and Rebecca Chain (new PR) crossed the line together in 18:55* and took 12th and 13th place, respectively.

The Gamecocks will be back in action next Friday, October 1st, at the Great American Cross-Country Festival in Raleigh, N.C.
