The University of South Carolina’s women’s tennis team will host the Southern Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament this weekend starting on Friday, October 29th.

The tournament will have seven flights in singles while there will be seven flights in doubles. There will also be consolation matches so each player will play at least three matches in singles and doubles on the weekend.

This year’s Southern Intercollegiate will field players from 16 different schools: South Carolina, Armstrong Atlantic State, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgia State, Murray State, Presbyterian College, South Carolina State, Tennessee-Martin, Western Carolina, Winthrop and Wofford.

Three different sites will be used for this weekend’s tournament. Sites that will be used will be Maxcy Gregg Tennis Courts on Blossom Street (women’s courts), Sam Daniels Tennis Courts that are next to the baseball stadium (men’s court), and the Columbia Tennis Center which is located on Pickens Street. The tournament will begin at 8:30 am on Friday and conclude with the finals on Sunday.
