Columbia, SC – South Carolina Cross Country traveled to Greenville, NC for the NCAA Southeast Cross Country Regional hosted by East Carolina University at Lake Kristi on Saturday. The Gamecocks finished 19th of 25 teams in the 6K run, totaling 454 points, finishing ahead of Davidson (502), East Carolina (512), UNC Asheville (594), UNC Wilmington (614), Elon (740) and Western Carolina (770).

Senior Jenny Lake was the top finisher for the Gamecocks, placing 34th with a time of 21:23. Freshman Rebecca Chain finished 77th with a time of 22:18, while sophomore Karen Wigal finished at 109th with a time of 23:01, and freshman Amy Wike at 119th with a time of 23:09. Other finishers included Tristan Rackow (23:40), and Caitlin McGroerty (24:29).

Duke University finished first in the competition with a total of 71 points, followed by North Carolina State in second place (75) and North Carolina in third (80). The top two individual runners were Carol Henry and Erin Donohue, of North Carolina, and finishing in third was Julia Lucas of North Carolina State.
