Orlando, Fla. – USC track and field traveled for the first time this season on Monday for a week-long preseason training at Disney’s Wide World of Sports outdoor facility in Orlando,Fla.
The Gamecocks will spend the entire week preparing for the start of their indoor season with two-a-day practices at the Disney facility and a wrap-up meet against Dennison University on Saturday, January 8th.
The trip will be the first time the entire team has come together for around-the-clock training and will encourage team bonding and unity as they prepare for the upcoming season.
“While here in Orlando this week,we expect to build commorody among the athletes and the coaches, while conditioning and preparing ourselves for a run at the Championship,” Head Coach Curtis Frye said. “This was a way to get the athletes away from the campus so they can focus and prepare for a big season.”
The Gamecocks will be in Orlando, where temperatures are forecasted in the lower 80s, until Sunday, January 9th. Their first indoor season competition will be the Virginia Tech Invitational held January 14-15 in Blacksburg, Va.
