Destin, Fla. – The South Carolina women’s golf team remains in sixth place after shooting a 299 during Saturday’s second round at the ACC/SEC Women’s Golf Challenge at the Raven Course at the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort.

Irmo native Erica Battle sits in 10th place on the individual leaderboard, 11 strokes off the lead, after firing a two-over-par 73 Saturday to follow up on Friday’s 72. Senior Tiffany Catafygiotu matched her first-round score by carding a 73 during Saturday’s second round and is in a tie for 12th entering Sunday’s final round.

Also competing for USC were sophomore Jenna Pearson, who sits in a tie for 42nd after firing a second-round 78, freshman Blythe Worley, who shaved three strokes off her first round score to finish Saturday with a 75 and move into a tie for 45th and freshman Caroline Rominger, who shot a second-round 78 and is in a tie for 63rd entering Sunday.

Final round action resumes tomorrow.
