The South Carolina equestrian team traveled to the University of Auburn this Saturday. The Gamecocks lost by a score of 1201 to 1150 at the Auburn Horse Unit.

Junior Tara Brothers and freshman Kristen Terebesi beat their opponents in both the equitation and the equitation over fences competition.In western horsemanship, sophomore Rachel Sternoff defeated her opponent by 7 points. Exhibition riders, sophmore Jessica Boil and freshman Ashley Rhode defeated their opposition in equitation and equitation over fences respectively.

“This loss was tough for us. Our team is capable of winning we just have to have a complete game and find a way to win”, said Head Coach Boo Duncan.

When asked what went wrong during this competition, Coach Duncan replied,

“We have had a lot of adversity to overcome with our team in the last few weeks and I was expecting a better outcome. We will learn from this loss and try to get back on the winning track when we go to Fresno State in two weeks.”

The Gamecocks are 2-5 overall and will travel to Fresno State on Friday, March 11.
