Columbia, SC – USC senior forward Carlos Powell has been named to the All-SEC Associated Press Third Team today. Powell was named to the Associated Press third team last season as well. The All-SEC Coaches Team will be announced on Wednesday.

Powell, who finished SEC play third in SEC stats with 17.0 ppg and 10th with 6.2 rpg, is No. 8 in overall SEC stats with 16.0 ppg and ninth with 6.3 rpg.

The following are a few highlights from his time at USC:

  • Leads team in PPG, RPG; Shooting 55.8 % (174-312); 109-197 (55.3%) in SEC play
  • Has scored in double figures 81 times in his career
  • Has scored in double figures all but twice this year (only scored 8 PT vs. Clemson and then 9 in Vandy win); Scored 20 or more PT four times; Has 5 double-doubles this year and 9 in his career
  • 30 PT performance in win over OIe Miss (3/6/05) was a career high and the most by a Gamecock since Mike Boynton, Jr. scored 32 PT in the 2004 SEC Tourney win over Arkansas; 11-14 from the field, 8-11 FT, 3 REB, 1 BLK, 1 STL in 38 MIN
