COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina softball returns to SEC action this weekend as they travel to Lexington, Ky. to take on the Kentucky Wildcats. Saturday’s doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. (ET) and Sunday’s single game is set for 1 p.m. as well. The Gamecocks are 22-14 and 5-5 in the SEC and are looking to snap a four-game SEC losing streak.

Kentucky is 15-27, 2-13 in the SEC and is coming off of a 1-2 series against No. 4 Tennessee. USC just took a doubleheader against North Carolina earlier in the week in non-conference play.

As a team, UK is hitting .207 while USC is hitting .276. In the circle, UK has an ERA of 4.95 and the Gamecocks’ ERA is 2.80.

Last year, South Carolina won the series 2-1 in Columbia. Overall, USC leads 23-6. The last time USC played in Lexington, the Gamecocks swept the Wildcats.

In SEC play, Meghan Cornett leads the team with 12 hits and a .375 batting average. Cornett and Ashley Smith are tied for RBIs with five a piece. Freshman Lisa Longo has scored the most runs in SEC play with seven.
