Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina senior RHP Zac McCamie has been named SEC Pitcher of the Week following his performance this past weekend at LSU. McCamie hurled his first career complete game in South Carolina’s 5-1 win vs. LSU on Saturday to clinch the Gamecocks’ first SEC series victory vs. Tigers since 2002 season. McCamie’s complete game was the first of the season for USC and the longest outing by a Carolina pitcher. The native of Orlando, Fla. limited sixth ranked LSU to just one run on three hits. McCamie is now 7-1 on the season with a 2.06 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings pitched.

McCamie is the third Carolina player to receive an honor from the SEC including the second pitcher to earn the distinction. Aaron Rawl and Steve Pearce have also been honored by the conference earlier this season. This is McCamie’s first SEC award.
