Champions were crowned on day five at the 2005 Wachovia Junior Hardcourt Championships. Matches will be played on Thursday at four locations: USC Indoor Tennis Facility, Maxcy Gregg Tennis Center, Columbia Tennis Center, and the Sam Daniels Tennis Center.

Dana Richards clinched the girls 18 singles championship with a 6-0,6-0 victory over Syreeta Thompson. After the two battled it out on the hard courts in singles, they joined forces to take home the girls 18 doubles trophy. Thompson and Richards defeated Alexis Prickett and Caroline Cotter 8-6 in the final. Richards also picked up the 2005 Sportsmanship Award while Will McArthur took the male Sportsmanship Award.

After upsetting top seed Caleb Barnes on Tuesday in the boys 18 semifinal, Florence native Ross Moyer clinched the championship with a 6-3,6-0 victory over Paul Appleby. Appleby advanced to the final defeating the three, and five seed.

Josh Richmond claimed the boys 12 singles championships while Clair Larkin knocked off the top seed to win the girls 12 singles championship.

Over at the USC Indoor Tennis Facility, fans watched a five and a half hour match between top seeded Katherine Lee of Easley and #2 seed Katie Tiller of Camden. Lee defeated Tiller 7-6(2),6-7(8),1-0(5) to claim the girls 10 singles championship.

Matches will continue tomorrow as the 2005 Wachovia Junior Hardcourt Championships comes to a close. Finals will be played in the boys and girls 14, and 16 singles as well as the boys and girls 14 doubles. Listed below are final results from day five of the tournament.
