COLUMBIA, S.C. – Five current or future University of South Carolina golfers made the cut on the second day of the South Carolina State Amateur Championship on Friday at the Beresford Creek Course (7,073 yards, Par 72), Daniel Island Club. Incoming freshman Baker Elmore, the leader after Thursday’s first round is tied for third (64-76=140) and three strokes off the lead, Stephen Poole (68-68=136).

Rising sophomore Warren Thomas is tied for seventh (67-74=141). Incoming freshman Allen Koon (72-74=146), redshirt freshman Patrick Cunning (72-76=148) and rising sophomore Mark Anderson (72-76=148) also moved on to Saturday’s third round.

Recent USC graduate Jake Thompson sits tied for seventh (71-70=141). Alex Hamilton, another 2005 USC graduate and the champion at the 2004 State Amateur, is tied for 12th (72-70=142).
