COLUMBIA, S.C. – University of South Carolina senior Greg Reece made College Soccer News’ (www.collegsoccernews.com) 2005 All-America team, the online publication announced Friday. A total of 33 players were selected, and Reece, a defender from Clemmons, N.C., is one 11 players on the third team.

Reece was selected the 2005 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year in and made the All-South Region first team in 2005. He was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 26) and selected to the Soccer America (Sept. 29) and Top Drawer Soccer (Sept. 26) National Teams of the Week. The 6-3, 194-pounder earned all-tournament honors at the North Carolina Nike Soccer Classic and the adidas-South Carolina Gamecock Classic. Reece was also a member of the all-Conference USA first team.

Reece was a three-year starter and two-year team captain for the Gamecocks. During his career, South Carolina compiled a 44-29-6 record, including 22 shutouts, played in three NCAA Tournaments.
