The annual Weems Baskin Relays is set for this weekend at the Weems Baskin track & field facility on the University of South Carolina campus.

The two-day meet gets underway on Friday, March 17 at 2 p.m. with the hammer throw competition. The first running event on Friday is set for 5 p.m., with the final event scheduled for 6:15 p.m.

The meet continues on Saturday, March 18, beginning at 11 a.m. and is scheduled to conclude around 4 p.m.

Teams expected to participate include Illinois (men only), Clemson (women only), Appalachian State, Furman, The Citadel and South Carolina State, among others.

The Weems Baskin Relays marks the first outdoor meet of the season for the University of South Carolina track & field squad. The USC women’s team placed 10th at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships last weekend in Fayetteville, Ark., while the men’s team tied for 33rd place.

Admission to the Weems Baskin Relays is free.
