Starkville, Miss. –
South Carolina softball returns to conference action this weekend when they travel to Starkville, Miss. to take on No. 22 Mississippi State. Saturday’s doubleheader is set for 2 p.m. (ET) and the series will conclude on Sunday at 2 p.m. (ET).

USC (21-10, 1-5 SEC) is hoping to snap a two-game conference losing streak, in addition to picking up their first conference road win of the season. The Bulldogs (25-7, 2-1 SEC) won their first conference series 2-1 over Arkansas last weekend.

This will mark the first meeting between the two teams since the Bulldogs eliminated the Gamecocks in the SEC Tournament last year. South Carolina won the series against MSU 2-1 but with the tournament loss, went 2-2 on the year. Overall, USC leads the series 20-10.

This will also mark the third ranked team the Gamecocks will have face this season. USC is 1-3 against ranked teams this year.
