COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina softball will take a midweek non-conference break as the Gamecocks travel to Blacksburg, Va. for a 2 p.m. (ET) doubleheader against Virginia Tech (23-8). USC (22-12) leads the all-time series 4-3, and this marks the first trip to Blacksburg for the Gamecocks since 2000. The games can be followed live via Gametracker on uscsports.com.

The Garnet and Black hopes to improve on its 20-5 non-conference record. The two teams met last year and the Gamecocks are hoping to avenge its two-game loss to the Hokies. Virginia Tech defeated USC 6-5 and 3-0 in Columbia in their last meeting.

Both teams are coming off of one-game conference wins as Tech defeated N.C. State and USC beat Mississippi State.
