South Carolina posted nine wins and three runner-up finishes in the 2006 Murray Neely Invitational in Greensboro, NC. USC also added three additional NCAA regional times on the day. USC ran against a field of a number of former professional athletes who competed at USC including Aleen Bailey, Lashinda Demus and Tiffany Ross-Williams.

Kelsey Bristol came across the line first, posting a time of 4:50.57, in the 1500m race. In another distance race, Karen Wigal won the 5000m race with a time of 18:49.31.

Jess Smith won the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:04.71, winning the race by almost seven seconds.

Amberly Nesbitt won the 100m with a time of 11.56.

Leroy Dixon was the runner-up in the 200m at 21.08, posting his first regional qualifying time in the event this season.

Daniel Williams won the men’s 3000m steeplechase, posting a time of 10:11.00 – out-distancing his competition by more than five seconds.

Keith Hinnant won the 400m with a time of 46.69.

Faraigan Giles was third in the 400m with a regional qualifier of 53.66 – improving her previous time.

Ronnetta Alexander won the 100m with at time of 13.50.

Joe Schroder won the javelin with a throw of 170′ 10.

Kemesha Whitmire was the runner-up in the long jump (18’3 _) and the triple jump (41′ 2 _). She has already posted regional qualifiers in both.

Precious Akins won the discus at 175′ 5.
