– South Carolina vs. Fordham
Head Coach Susan Walvius

On the team’s overall performance:
“We have been very tight in our last two games, and as I’ve said to some people, I think we have put a lot of pressure on them as a basketball team to really excel this year and with that, this is their year, they’ve been together for a long time. I think they’ve put a lot of pressure on themselves, which has caused them to be a little tight. I think we were a little tight this game, at least at the beginning.”
On her team’s hustle:
“For the most part, I thought it was good. There were some spurts that I wasn’t happy with. I wasn’t happy with the way that we came out of halftime, or let me say that the first two minutes coming out of halftime were good, the third minute we were done. I wasn’t happy with that, so we subbed immediately and resolved that issue and got back to hustling.”
On the significance of today’s game going into the Oklahoma game:
“I don’t think we look past anybody, I think we’ve learned that lesson. We learned that lesson last year, every win is important, every single one of them. We have to take one at a time, and I know that sounds real cliché, but it is the nature of being a good team.”
On playing Oklahoma on Thursday, December 7:
“We are going to have to play better against Oklahoma than we did tonight to win, I think that is obvious to everyone. We are certainly capable. It’s a great opportunity. Oklahoma is a great team, and one of the things that they are known for is playing hard. We’ll have to play better to be successful against Oklahoma. We’ll need a lot of fans out too, that’s a big part of it and we need energy in this facility. It’s a great opportunity for South Carolina as a state in general to step out and to have a game like this.”
